Gamma AI Presentation Maker Review: Stress-Tested by Professional Designers (2026)
If you search for a Gamma AI review today, you will usually find one of two things: a rival software company ranking their own tool at #1, or a solo blogger claiming to have tested dozens of platforms over the years.
I have tested plenty of AI tools myself. But this review carries a lot more weight than just my personal experience.
I write this backed by 24Slides, an impartial design company with 13+ years of experience and over 2 million slides designed. While our innovation Lab monitors the AI landscape, we put the software directly into the hands of our designers.
At 24Slides, we do not hate AI. We use it every day. But unlike other blogs that just summarize Gamma's website without truly putting it to the test, we demand real results.
In this definitive 2026 Gamma.app review guide, we tested every creation method using a 100% free account. You’ll see raw, unedited examples showing exactly how it handles corporate branding, PowerPoint exports, and real-world design scenarios.

📝 Note on our testing methodology:
We tested every way Gamma creates presentations: importing files, generating from templates, and pasting raw text. Methods you won't see covered in any other blog. More importantly, to show you exactly what you can achieve today without spending a single dollar, we conducted all our tests using a 100% free account, providing links to the full, unedited presentations so you can judge the results for yourself.
TL; DR: The 24Slides Quick Verdict
If you are in a rush, here is our 60-second agency verdict:
- What it is: Gamma is an AI-powered, web-based content builder that turns text prompts into presentations, documents, and webpages.
- Pricing: The free plan gives you 400 non-renewing credits (enough for ~10 decks). Paid plans start at $8/month (billed annually) for unlimited AI generations.
- Our 3 Real-World Tests: We evaluated all creation methods. Generating from a text prompt is incredible for speed, importing a PDF yields great data fidelity but messy layouts, and using pre-made templates offers good structure but restricts text controls.
- How to use it (5-Step Summary): 1. Sign up and click 'Create New', 2. Choose your creation mode, 3. Describe your presentation, 4. Set your settings and select a theme, 5. Export to PowerPoint (optional).
- Biggest Flaw: Because it is built like a fluid webpage, exporting a Gamma presentation to a traditional 16:9 PowerPoint file often causes formatting bugs and overlapping text.
- Agency Verdict: It is a fantastic brainstorming assistant, but it lacks the granular, pixel-perfect control required for strict corporate brand compliance.

What is Gamma? The "Liquid Canvas" Explained
Gamma.app is a multi-format AI tool that generates presentations, documents, and websites in seconds. You can create content in four ways: typing a prompt, pasting text, uploading a file, or using a pre-made template.
But how it designs is what sets it apart. As explained in our AI Presentation Maker vs. Professional Presentation Designer guide, we classify Gamma presentations as "Liquid Canvas" tools.
Instead of forcing text into rigid boxes during generation, Gamma works like a web developer. It uses dynamic "cards" that automatically expand and adapt to your content. However, once generated, you are locked into a block-based grid, meaning it lacks the "free-form" drag-and-drop freedom of PowerPoint.
(Note: You can select a standard 16:9 slide format, but Gamma's engine is fundamentally built for this fluid web experience).

💡 Pro-Tip (Save Your Credits!): To avoid wasting your limited AI design credits, we highly recommend using ChatGPT to write your text outline first, then selecting Gamma's "Paste in text" option. Real-World Gamma AI Presentations: 4 Examples
To truly evaluate an AI tool, you need to see its output across different business scenarios. As we always say at 24Slides, specificity is your superpower—the more detailed your prompt, the less generic your presentation will be.
If you are looking for inspiration for your next gamma presentation, here are four unedited examples we generated using highly detailed prompts and a free Gamma AI account.
(Note: For the best visual results, we set the AI to use 'Stock Photos' rather than generating AI images).
1. The Investor Pitch Deck
The Prompt: "Act as the CEO of a startup. Make a 6-slide pitch deck to present EcoBottle to sustainability-focused investors. The goal is to secure seed funding by showing a problem-solution structure and a clear call to action. Keep the tone highly professional, persuasive, and data-driven."

🔗 Click here to see the complete Gamma presentation
The Result: Gamma built a highly professional narrative in seconds. To get this specific result, we opted for stock photos and spent about 30 seconds manually swapping the cover photo to better fit the brand. The AI did 95% of the heavy lifting, making it an incredibly strong foundation if you plan to share your presentation via a URL link.
2. The B2B Sales Meeting Deck
The Prompt: "Act as a Senior Sales Director. Generate an 8-slide B2B sales deck for 'BrightLearn Academy'. The audience is university administrators struggling with remote student engagement. The goal is to show how our AI-powered learning tools solve this problem, backed by fictional case study metrics. Keep the tone persuasive and professional. Include a 3-tier subscription pricing comparison table at the end."

🔗 View this complete Gamma presentation here
The Result: Gamma's AI perfectly executed the problem-solution framework. By explicitly asking for a "pricing comparison table," we forced the AI to use its smart layouts, making complex data highly readable.
3. The Digital Marketing Proposal
The Prompt: "Act as a Digital Marketing Consultant. Create a 7-slide business proposal highlighting our marketing services. The audience is small, local retail businesses looking to scale online. The goal is to pitch a comprehensive package including social media management, email campaigns, and AI-driven SEO strategies. Tone should be modern, energetic, and data-driven. Please use a timeline layout for the 'First 90 Days' execution plan."

🔗 View this complete Gamma presentation here
The Result: The AI successfully applied a professional, persuasive tone. It utilized icon grids and timeline layouts to break up the dense marketing text into easily digestible sections, which is exactly what you want for a client-facing web link.
4. The Corporate Team Onboarding
The Prompt: "Act as an HR Director. Design a 6-slide new hire onboarding deck for 'Vera & Co.', a modern, hybrid-remote fashion retail company. The audience is new employees starting their first week. The goal is to make them feel welcome while clearly outlining the company mission, team structure, core software tools, and first-week expectations. The tone should be warm, inclusive, and highly organized."

The Result: The AI didn't just dump bullet points onto the screen; it structured a welcoming, organized flow for new employees. Setting the image settings to "Stock Photos" ensured the visuals looked like a real, premium retail brand rather than an AI hallucination.
Key Features of Gamma App
As a leading Gamma AI presentation maker, the platform has evolved significantly. To see if it lives up to the hype in 2026, we broke down its most powerful features:
- Flexible Card System: Gamma abandons traditional rigid slides in favor of a fluid "Card System." These cards help break down complex ideas into smaller, scrollable pieces, allowing you to easily adjust the text length and format.

- Smart Layouts: This feature helps you visually structure your key points in seconds. You can use Smart Layouts to instantly organize content into multi-column grids, timelines, comparative boxes, and more without having to manually align anything.

- Advanced Charts & Data: This feature helps you bring complex data to life in seconds. You can easily insert classic options like pie charts or bar graphs, using the built-in editor to instantly update data points, labels, and legends without ever leaving the app.

- The Gamma Agent (The 2026 AI Chatbot Upgrade): This is the biggest update for Gamma 3.0. Instead of manually clicking to edit elements, you use a conversational AI chatbot. You can type natural-language commands like "Make this presentation more corporate," or "Add a competitor comparison," and the Agent will restyle or rewrite the deck for you.

- One-Click Themes: Users can quickly transform their entire Gamma AI presentation style with a single click while keeping the content intact. It is effortless to explore different visual themes, colors, and typography.
- Import Theme (Custom Branding): For corporate users, this option lets you control the exact colors, fonts, and logos of your presentations to ensure brand consistency. You can build your own custom theme from scratch or import brand guidelines directly from a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.

- Rich Media & App Integrations (Gamma's Superpower): Gamma supports diverse content far beyond basic text. You can embed YouTube/Loom videos, TikToks, Spotify tracks, and even interactive tools like Miro boards, Airtable databases, and Google Forms directly into your presentation.

- Advanced AI Image Generation: The platform allows you to generate AI images directly on the slide. Gamma offers different model options, including Flux Fast or Ideogram 3.0 Flash for free users, and more advanced models for Pro users.

💡 Pro-Tip (Save Your Credits!): We highly recommend selecting the "Web search / Stock photos" option in the free plan. This avoids unprofessional AI visual "hallucinations."
Generating AI images on the free plan relies on basic models and burns through your limited credits. Using the built-in stock photo search or uploading your own images is the smartest, most cost-effective way to design your deck!
Here are some examples of AI-generated images we created using the basic model option:

- Engagement Tracking Analytics: In traditional software, a presentation's life ends after the meeting. Gamma offers built-in analytics so you can track how many times a shared web link has been viewed, and see exactly how much time your audience spent looking at each specific card.

- Real-Time Collaboration: Gamma enables multiple users to work on the same presentation simultaneously (Note: This requires a paid Pro plan). It enhances teamwork.
- Export Options (PPTX, PDF, Google Slides): Once your draft is complete, presentations can be exported as PDFs, PowerPoint files, or PNG images. You can also export to Google Slides or post them directly to LinkedIn.

Crucial Tip: If you plan to export your presentation as a PowerPoint or Google Slides file, make sure to change your page style to “Traditional 16:9” in the prompt editor. This will help reduce severe formatting issues!
Who Should Use Gamma App? (And Who Shouldn't?)
Based on our agency testing, here is exactly who will benefit from Gamma, and who will hit a wall.
The Ideal User (Who it's for)
- Startups and Small Businesses: If you need to create pitch decks and marketing reports quickly but don’t have strict brand guidelines or a dedicated design team, Gamma's templates offer instant polish.
- Students and Educators: Perfect for class projects or lectures. The AI significantly cuts down on creation time when facing tight deadlines.
- Professionals Needing Quick Drafts: If you just need basic, good-looking slides for an internal update and want to save hours, Gamma is much easier to use than starting from a blank PowerPoint slide.
Who Should Skip Gamma
- Corporate Teams with Strict Brand Guidelines: Gamma’s customization is too limited. You cannot enforce exact template governance, margin widths, or precise corporate font scaling, leading to off-brand decks.
- Professional Designers: Gamma is built for speed and simplicity, not granular design work. You lack the free-form canvas needed for custom shapes, overlapping elements, or pixel-perfect layout control.
- Data Analysts and Financial Teams: Anyone who needs to create complex, data-driven charts or link to live, refreshable data from Excel will find Gamma's native chart capabilities too basic.
- Anyone needing to work offline, as Gamma requires a constant internet connection.
How to use gamma to create a PowerPoint Presentation: A 5-Step Guide
If you fit the "Ideal User" profile, here is the most efficient workflow to build a deck in Gamma and export it successfully into Microsoft Office.
Step 1: Sign up and click "Create New AI"
- Go to the Gamma.app website and sign up using your email or Google account. Once in your dashboard, click "Create New AI" at the top. The free plan gives you 400 credits to test the platform.

Step 2: Choose your creation mode
- You will see options to Generate, Paste in Text, or Import. For this guide, select "Generate" to create a presentation from scratch using a single prompt.

💡 Pro-Tip: Because Gamma charges credits for every AI edit you make, we highly recommend using a free chatbot like ChatGPT to write your outline first. Once you have the text, you can use Gamma's "Paste in text" option instead. Read our guide on How to Create a PowerPoint with ChatGPT for the exact prompts to use!
Step 3: Describe your presentation
- In the prompt field, describe the presentation you want to create. Remember, specificity is your superpower. Instead of just typing a basic topic, give the AI a clear role, audience, and structure. For example:
"Act as a Chief Marketing Officer. Create a 10-slide Q3 content marketing strategy presentation for a premium meal prep delivery service called 'FreshBox'. The audience is our internal marketing team. Include specific slides on: Q2 performance review, target audience personas (busy professionals), three core content pillars (TikTok, Instagram Reels, and SEO blogs), budget allocation, and final KPIs. The tone should be energetic, modern, and data-driven."
- Click "Generate Outline."

Step 4: Refine settings and turn on "Advanced Mode"
Gamma will instantly generate your text outline. Scroll down to review your basic visual settings first:
- Image Source: Change this to "Web search / Stock photos." Generating AI images can sometimes result in unprofessional or cartoonish graphics, so real stock photos are much safer for corporate decks.
- Theme: Select a color palette that matches your brand.
Before you click generate, click "Advanced mode" at the very bottom of the screen (as seen below).

This unlocks a powerful new dashboard with granular controls. Here is your final checklist before spending your credits:
- Left Panel: Set your Text Content to "Concise" (to prevent crowded slides). Thanks to Advanced Mode, you can also explicitly type in your Target Audience ("Write for...") and your specific "Tone."
- Center Panel: Review the text. You can manually type in missing points or reorder cards right here.
- Right Panel: Add any final design commands in the "Additional instructions" box.
Once you are happy with the setup, click "Generate."

Step 5: Present online or export to PowerPoint
Once Gamma generates your slides, you have two choices for how to share your deck. If you just need to send it to your team or present live, sharing the direct web link is a great option.
💡 Pro-Tip for Web Sharing: If you know you are only going to present online and won't need to export the file, keep your format set to Gamma's "Default" size back in Step 4 instead of 16:9. The default size looks much more fluid in Gamma's native browser player!
For full transparency, here is the completely unedited FreshBox presentation exactly as the AI generated it using our prompt:
🔗 Click here to view the unedited FreshBox presentation in Gamma's web view!
- However, if you need to send this to a corporate client or do heavy manual editing, you need to leave the browser. Click the Share button in the top right corner, go to the Export tab, and select Export to PowerPoint (.pptx).

- The tool will process the file and save a native, editable presentation directly to your computer. Once downloaded, you can manually swap images, resize boxes, and rewrite text natively in Office.

(Warning: As we will explain in the next section, exporting from a fluid web tool to a rigid desktop app is a complex translation. Always open the downloaded file in Microsoft PowerPoint to manually check and fix the formatting bugs that occur during the export process!)
We Put Gamma to the Test: 3 Real-World Scenarios
Most reviewers just type a basic prompt and praise the output. Our 24Slides designers, Gabriel Morales and Leonardo Acaro, took it a step further. We ran three agency-level stress tests to see if this tool can actually survive a demanding corporate workflow.
Test 1: The "Import File" Feature (PDF to Presentation)
Can Gamma accurately convert a complex corporate document into a slide deck? To find out, we uploaded a real, data-heavy Pharma ROI Whitepaper (PDF)—a document we actually use for our pharmaceutical clients.
Unlike the standard "Generate" mode, the Import feature doesn't give you a main prompt box. The AI simply extracts your document's text directly into the editor. While Gamma does provide an "Additional instructions" box on the side, we intentionally left it completely blank. We wanted to see exactly how well the AI could organize the content purely on its own.

🔗 Click here to view the complete Gamma presentation imported from our Pharma PDF
Here is what we found during the review:
- The Good (Amazing Data Fidelity): The AI extracted the complex information flawlessly. The absolute highlight was the chart generation. Because our original PDF was already visually designed with tables and graphs, Gamma recognized that hierarchy and actively replicated the charts with near-perfect accuracy.

- The "Pre-Designed" Bias: We discovered a major caveat. Gamma performed well here because our PDF was already structured by human designers. Later, we ran the exact same test using a raw, unformatted text document of the same report. Without human design cues to guide it, the AI got confused and highlighted secondary, unimportant topics on the main slides.
- The Ugly (Space Optimization Bugs): This is where the "Liquid Canvas" fails. The layout distribution was poor. Some slides were generated so tall that we actually had to scroll down during "Present Mode" to read them—a massive disruption for a live pitch.

The Designer's Verdict on Imports:
While finding a pre-made theme that matched our corporate colors was seamless, the structural conversion requires careful oversight. Transitioning Gamma's fluid web-cards into a traditional 16:9 format occasionally resulted in layout inconsistencies or required multiple attempts to apply correctly.
Additionally, we noticed minor formatting details, such as repeating slide numbers, that require manual correction. Ultimately, the import feature is a powerful time-saver for extracting complex data, but the resulting deck still requires significant human refinement to achieve a polished corporate finish.
Test 2: Pre-Made Templates vs. AI Generation
Instead of letting the AI hallucinate a layout from scratch, we wanted to test Gamma's structured "Workspace Templates." We used the exact same Digital Marketing prompt from our earlier examples, but this time, we forced the AI to build it inside a pre-designed "Marketing" template.

🔗 Click here to view the complete Gamma presentation generated from a Template
Here is what we found during the review:
- The Good (Accent Images & Data Flow): The information hierarchy was actually very strong. The AI successfully adapted to the template's layout, and it was incredibly easy to manually change the diagrams afterward. We also selected the "Accent Images" setting, which smartly generates aesthetic placeholders so you can easily drop your own corporate photos in later.

- The Bad (Missing Text Controls): We discovered a major UI inconsistency. When you use the "Template" mode, Gamma removes the "Amount of Text" setting (which usually lets you choose "Concise" or "Minimal"). Because we couldn't limit the text, the AI decided to stuff a massive amount of information onto each slide.
- The Ugly (The Scrolling Bug Returns): Just like in our PDF Import test, the layout sizing was highly erratic. While some slides looked great in 16:9, others were generated so tall that we had to actively scroll down to read the bottom half.

The Designer's Verdict on Templates:
Using a Workspace Template provides the exact same AI precision as using a standard "Theme," but with fewer setup controls. Because you cannot control the text density via settings, you must explicitly tell the AI to "keep text concise" directly in your prompt.
Ultimately, templates are a massive time-saver for generating dense, text-heavy internal reports where branding isn't critical. However, due to the limited selection of templates and the erratic slide heights, we do not recommend this mode for formal, client-facing pitches.
Test 3: The Brand Compliance Test (Custom Themes)
Corporate clients demand strict adherence to their Corporate Visual Identity (CVI). For our final test, we built a Custom Theme using 24Slides' exact hex codes to see if Gamma could replicate a true agency-level deck.

To really test the AI's design capabilities, we took a different approach than Test 1. Instead of using a beautifully pre-designed corporate document, we fed Gamma a completely raw, unformatted PDF that contained nothing but plain text and basic tables. We wanted to see if our custom theme alone could elevate a raw document into a premium presentation.

(Full transparency: If you look closely at the "Additional instructions" box in the screenshot below, you will see we accidentally left a command asking the AI to "Follow the brand guidelines... found in the PDF." Because this specific PDF had absolutely zero design elements, the AI had no visual cues to extract!)
Here is what we found during the review:
- The Good (Color Accuracy): Gamma accepted our custom hex colors and applied them beautifully across the deck. We also selected the "placeholder" image option, which allowed us to easily drop in a high-quality stock photo on the cover slide later. Overall, the colors felt accurate to our brand.
- The Bad (Granular Restrictions): We immediately hit a wall with typography. Gamma only allows you to select one font for all titles, with no variations permitted. As we noted in our 'Cons' section, text sizes are pre-set, so we couldn't make micro-adjustments. Furthermore, your custom corporate logo will only display if you are actively using Gamma's web "Presenter Mode."
- The Ugly (The Loss of the "Wow Factor"): Because the source PDF had zero human design cues, the AI didn't know how to prioritize the data visually. The resulting design was incredibly flat. It just painted our brand colors over generic, repetitive blocks. It completely lacked the dynamic "BAM!" factor that engages an audience.

🔗 Click here to view the complete Gamma presentation generated with our custom theme
The Designer's Verdict on Custom Themes:
Creating a custom theme in Gamma is a great time-saver for internal updates where aesthetics don't matter. But for client-facing pitches, applying brand colors to rigid boxes isn't enough. Our Creative Designer, Leonardo Acaro, summed up this AI limitation perfectly:
"AI treats design as a math problem—calculating the perfect center and the safest margins. But great design is emotion. Sometimes you have to break the grid, overlap the text, or create tension to make the message actually land. AI is programmed to never take that risk."
The Gamma PowerPoint Export Bug
If you search online, the biggest technical complaint about this software revolves around trying to download a Gamma AI PPT file.
Because Gamma builds dynamic, scrollable web cards, translating that web code into a standard Gamma PPT format is a highly complex process. When you hit download, our testing revealed two major dealbreakers for corporate design:
- Awkward Alignment & Wasted Space: Web cards don't map perfectly to fixed 16:9 slides. As seen in the example below, tall cards translate poorly, resulting in weird page jumps and massive amounts of unused space. The design completely fails to optimize the slide's real estate.

- Flattened, Uneditable Graphics: While Gamma's native charts look great on the web, they export as flat pictures. If your client asks you to update a percentage in the pie chart below, you can't just right-click and edit the data—you have to rebuild the entire chart from scratch.

If your client demands a flawless, 100% editable Gamma AI PowerPoint presentation, you must budget 20 to 30 minutes of manual cleanup time in Microsoft Office after exporting to fix these exact issues.
Gamma.app reviews: What Users Are Saying
Beyond our own testing, we analyzed what everyday users are saying across major review platforms. Here is the general consensus:
The Ratings:
- Product Hunt: 4.5/5 (78+ reviews)
- Microsoft Store: 4.4/5 (79+ reviews)
- Trustpilot: 1.8/5 (107+ reviews)
Positive Feedback: Users consistently praise Gamma for its ease of use, time-saving AI, and modern minimalist decks. Non-designers love how it boosts productivity and seamlessly embeds diverse media like videos and spreadsheets.
Negative Feedback: The brutally low Trustpilot score is largely driven by customer support issues (specifically automated replies when requesting refunds within the 7-day window). On the technical side, users frequently complain about random AI image hallucinations, restrictive customization options, and severe formatting issues when exporting to Microsoft Office.
Gamma App Pricing Explained (And How Credits Work)
"Is Gamma AI free forever?" The short answer is yes, but there is a major catch.
This AI tool operates on a strict credit system. When evaluating Gamma.app pricing, you have to understand this "hidden math."
(Note: All paid plans listed below reflect "per seat, per month" pricing when billed annually).
Individual Plans:
- Free: $0
- Plus: $9 / month
- Pro: $18 / month
- Ultra: $90 / month
Team Plans:
- Team: $20 / month
- Business: $40 / month

The Hidden Math of Free Credits:
The free plan gives users 400 credits, but these credits don’t refresh over time. Every time you generate a deck, you use 40 credits approximately. For each additional AI task (like rewriting a card or generating an image), you use up 2 to 50 more credits. This means you can realistically only build about 8 to 10 free presentations in your lifetime before hitting a paywall.
(Bonus: For every person who signs up with your referral link, you’ll earn an extra 200 credits).
Just keep in mind that collaboration features, like real-time editing, commenting, and notifications, are only available on Gamma's paid plans. Free plan users do not have access to multiplayer tools.
The Final Verdict: 24Slides' Expert Take on Gamma App
With over a decade of experience and 2M+ slides designed for global brands, we are uniquely positioned to evaluate AI tools like Gamma. We went beyond testing features; we benchmarked its output against professional design standards. Here is our verdict:
Strengths: Where Gamma AI Excels
- Superior Prompt-to-Outline Generation: Gamma excels at translating abstract ideas into a structured narrative. It creates a coherent foundation that drastically reduces initial development time, especially when paired with a detailed ChatGPT prompt.
- Sophisticated Data Visualization Tools: Gamma's library goes far beyond the basic charts found in other AI presentation makers, offering advanced options like funnels, timelines, and comparative grids that are incredibly easy to populate.
- Effortless Customization for Non-Designers: Its intuitive block system and the new conversational Gamma Agent empower users without a design background to produce visually compelling work without a steep learning curve.
- Seamless Integration Ecosystem: This is Gamma's primary competitive advantage. Embedding interactive content from platforms like Figma, Airtable, Google Drive, and YouTube transforms static slides into dynamic, interactive dashboards.
Limitations: Where Gamma App Falls Short
- A Critical Lack of Granular, Brand-Level Control: Gamma is engineered for speed, not precision. The platform lacks the ability to enforce strict brand guidelines. For example, as shown below, you cannot use exact typography scaling. Fonts only come in pre-set sizes (Heading 1, Heading 2), meaning you can’t make the micro-adjustments required for pixel-perfect corporate layouts.

- The "Gamma Look" & Rigid Block Grids: The platform's reliance on its core templates leads to a predictable, repetitive aesthetic. Furthermore, because it relies on strict grid blocks, it completely removes the free-form canvas that professional designers need to overlap and layer elements creatively.
- Broken Visual Hierarchy: Because the AI wraps text mathematically inside those rigid blocks, it frequently makes amateur typography mistakes. As our Marketing Designer, Gabriel Morales, noted during testing:
"Gamma constantly generates 'orphan words'—leaving a single word dangling on its own line. An AI doesn't notice this, but it actively breaks the slide's visual hierarchy and ruins the reading flow. To a professional designer, it makes the presentation look sloppy."

- Export and Formatting Failures: Because Gamma is a web-first "Liquid Canvas," exporting presentations to traditional 16:9 PowerPoint files frequently results in formatting issues, awkward page jumps, and uneditable flattened graphics that require heavy manual cleanup.

- Superficial AI Image Generation: While technologically impressive, the built-in AI image models (in the free plan) often fail the test of contextual relevance, occasionally generating cartoonish or inappropriate art styles for serious corporate topics.

Our Conclusion: A Top-Tier Tool with a Clear Purpose
After stress-testing the software, our 24Slides team concludes that Gamma AI is the best free option for creating rapid, modern presentations. It is an outstanding tool for individuals, students, and startups needing to share web-based decks quickly.
However, its reliance on templates, export bugs, and lack of advanced customization make it unsuitable for corporate environments with strict branding requirements.
Our Creative Marketing Designer, Gabriel Morales, summed up these AI limitations perfectly during our testing:

The Ultimate Alternative: "Powered by AI, Perfected by People"
AI tools like Gamma are incredible drafting assistants. They are fantastic for internal meetings or quick brainstorming. But when you are delivering a high-stakes investor pitch or an executive board update, an AI draft isn't enough.
To show you the difference, we took my polished AI draft from our recent 10 Best AI Presentation Makers report and handed the exported .pptx file over to Gabriel Morales and Leonardo Acaro, our marketing designers.
They completely dismantled the rigid AI blocks, integrated our true Corporate Visual Identity (CVI), and established a visual flow that commands attention.
Here is what happens when human expertise takes over:

🔍 Compare the presentations yourself:
- View my polished 10-slide Gamma draft (The "Before")
- View Gabo & Leo's full 18-slide Pro Redesign in Google Slides (The "After")
(Note: The "Before" link is not the raw AI output. It is my manually customized 10-slide draft, proving that even with basic human tweaking, AI templates have a hard ceiling!)
While AI is evolving rapidly, there are three distinct reasons why the professional human touch remains mandatory:
- True Brand DNA: AI simply paints boxes with your hex codes. Designers expertly balance typography, white space, and secondary colors to make the deck unmistakably yours.
- Breaking the Grid: Algorithms rely on safe, mathematical containers. Professionals know how to overlap elements and build custom illustrations to create visual impact.
- Strategic Storytelling: Software organizes data. Humans control pacing and emotional cues to turn a static report into a persuasive journey.
At 24Slides, our philosophy is simple: AI gets you 60% of the way there. Our 200+ human designers finish the job. Click below to see exactly how our team transforms raw AI drafts into boardroom-ready masterpieces!

Frequently Asked Questions about Gamma.app
Is Gamma app free?
The short answer is yes. Gamma offers a free plan that gives new users 400 credits. However, these credits don’t refresh over time. You need a paid subscription to keep using Gamma after your free credits run out.
How many credits does it cost to use AI in Gamma App?
Gamma's credit consumption was recently updated for 2026. Here is the breakdown:
- Create a full presentation: 40 credits
- Use the AI Chat (editing/rewriting): 10 credits (Note: Gamma will not charge you credits if the AI makes an error or asks for clarification).
- Generate an AI image: 2 to 50 credits per image, depending on the AI model you choose (e.g., basic Flux 2 Fast costs 2 credits, while premium Nano Banana 2 costs 50 credits).
- Add a single AI card: 5 credits
- Continue generating text: 2 credits
Why do Gamma presentations look different when exported to PowerPoint?
Because Gamma is a "Liquid Canvas" tool built for the web. It uses dynamic, scrollable cards that expand based on your text. PowerPoint uses rigid, fixed 16:9 slides. When Gamma translates its web code into a downloadable .pptx file, the content often shifts, overlaps, or gets flattened into uneditable images. This is why human designers are usually needed to fix the exported file.
What are the best Gamma app competitors in 2026?
Gamma stands out for its unique ability to generate complete presentations from a single prompt with rich media integration. However, if you need a different workflow, there are great alternatives. For flawless native PowerPoint exports, we recommend SlideSpeak. For Google Workspace users, Plus AI is a great native option.
For our complete, data-driven comparison, read our full R&D report on the 10 Best AI Presentation Makers, where we scored the top tools on 6 professional criteria (including Brand Compliance and Design Control).
Can Gamma App integrate with other productivity tools?
Yes, Gamma App can integrate with other tools to improve your workflow. It integrates with Google Workspace, allowing you to import content directly from Google Docs and Google Slides. Gamma also works with Microsoft 365, letting you import content from Word and PowerPoint. Additionally, you can embed live web apps like Figma, Miro, Airtable, and public Notion docs directly into your slides.
Can Gamma App presentations be exported in multiple formats?
Yes, Gamma presentations can be exported as PDF, PNG, PowerPoint, or Google Slides files. (Note: Always double-check your exported PowerPoint files, as the translation from web-to-desktop often causes formatting shifts).
How user-friendly is Gamma App for beginners?
Gamma App is designed to be highly user-friendly, making it accessible even for absolute beginners. Its simple interface lets you add text, images, and videos easily. It guides you through the presentation process, and its rigid block system actually prevents non-designers from making ugly alignment mistakes.
